We did get to take some time off this summer and spend some quality time together as a family. My husband runs ultra-marathons and was involved in one back in July that took us near the border of Alberta and British Columbia for a weekend of running (not for me, I only watched this...of course), and camping with the kids. After we were camped out, we travelled to Nelson, British Columbia to visit some friends for a week. Our time in Nelson was amazing and we have found yet another place we could live. It seems almost every time we go away on a trip we find new places we could imagine living someday, however, we still keep coming back to Saskatchewan, so there must be something about this province that keeps us here! When we got back home, we were here for only a few days before we were off to a family wedding and time at the lake with family. It has been a great summer and we are truly blessed to have a amazing friends and family to spend our time with.
While I was away on vacation, I was contacted by The Wren to see if I was interested in being part of an upcoming handcraft market they were hosting in Regina. To say I was ecstatic that someone contacted me about doing a handcraft market would be an understatement. I have only been sewing for about 4 years, so I am very honoured to be a part of the upcoming handcraft market.
I have a new found obsession with quilted cushion covers. They are a great way to add some colour to your space without breaking the bank. For myself, the ability to create and try new patterns out on a small scale is what draws me back to creating the cushion covers. The Wren handcraft market will be happening on August 28th, in the city square area in downtown Regina. Come out to support your local artisans and crafters. Let's hope for good weather.
These will be some of the creations I will have on hand at the market.
